Updated 2007-9 by Roland Rhoades and posted with photos on the Cambridge page of rolandrhoades.com with help from Roland Herrick, Cambridge Historical Society & Cambridge Town Hall, for the benefit of MOCA - Maine Old Cemeteries Association

Located east of the village, very high on a hill or ridge, on North Dexter Road (next road north parallel to road Memorial Garden is on). GPS:  Latitude: 45.027N x Longitude: -69.466W

This cemetery was called Village Cemetery - 2nd Cemetery in 1972 recording by Taylor, Jackson & Jackson.  1926 and 1930 death certificates refer to it as “New Yard” cemetery.

We have added area identification for each stone, simply as R or L, right or left of the driveway through the middle. Thanks to Carol Laplant at town hall, we have a copy of the cemetery lot maps with who bought each lot (no dates) and those lot #s are added here, along with some burials with no stones. The right section is lots 1-102 and the left section begins with lot 103. Lot 113 is the parking lot. All dates and names are verified or corrected, and families placed by stone/plot, not just surname.  Added references include SSDI (Social Security Death Index), censuses, d/c death certificates, MDI (Maine Death Index), and many maiden names supplied by the Maine marriage index. If maiden name is not in bracketts, it is on the stone. Data also added from Cambridge town records.

Photos of stones are available if there is a link underline. I have computer-refocused and clarified for brightness, details and contrast to make each photo as clear as possible. More coming as I get time to take more photos, or email your own appr 8x10 digital photos to me.

This below, is still the Sept update; pdf has final additions.
